The Overview
Magdalene Acquah is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with over 13 years of experience serving families, couples, children, and individuals across the Durham Region. Her practice, Acquah Counseling and Consulting Services, is built around culturally sensitive approaches to mental health, empowering clients to build healthier relationships and achieve lasting personal growth.
When Magdalene first came to June Plum Creative, her practice was growing and she needed a digital presence that truly reflected her mission. We have worked with Magdalene since 2021, building her original website and maintaining and evolving it as her practice has grown.
The Challenge
The central challenge was finding a visual identity that felt authentically Magdalene. Her practice is warm, community-focused, and deeply human, and her website needed to communicate that before a potential client ever read a single word.
We worked closely with Magdalene to develop a colour palette and visual direction that aligned with her values and the clients she serves. Alongside the visual work, we developed the copy for the site, writing service descriptions, FAQs, and page content that reflected her empathetic and empowering approach to therapy.
The site also needed to work practically, making it easy for clients to understand what Acquah Counseling offers, find the right service for their situation, and take the next step toward booking.
The Result
We delivered a website that reflects Magdalene's mission and connects with the diverse communities she serves. The site is structured for clarity, guiding visitors through her services, her team, and her approach in a way that feels welcoming rather than clinical.
The site is also built to be found. On-page SEO was set up from the start so that families and individuals searching for therapy services in Ajax and the Durham Region can find Acquah Counseling when they need it most.
Magdalene has continued to grow her practice since launch, adding four clinicians to her team and expanding her services. We have maintained and updated the site throughout that growth to make sure it keeps pace with where the practice is heading.
