As a Webflow designer and developer, I'm always looking for ways to work more efficiently, push creative boundaries, and take on more complex projects—without needing to scale my team overnight. One of the biggest game-changers for me? AI.
AI has become more than a tool—it's like having a collaborative partner that supports me across multiple stages of a project. In this post, I’ll share how I’m currently using AI in my workflow, the tools I rely on, and where I see its limitations (for now).
When working on more complex Webflow projects—especially ones that require custom JavaScript or advanced integrations—AI steps in to help me brainstorm, debug, and write cleaner code.
I regularly switch between ChatGPT and DeepSeek depending on the task.
This setup has drastically sped up my workflow, especially on solo or small-team projects where I don’t have a dedicated backend or frontend developer.
Not every client project has the budget for a professional copywriter. But that doesn’t mean the copy can be an afterthought.
I often use AI tools (primarily ChatGPT) to:
Of course, I still review and revise heavily, but having an AI-first draft saves time and gives me a solid foundation to work from.
This is one area where I think AI still has room to grow. While I’ve tried using AI tools for layout generation, I haven't found anything that consistently produces high-quality, creative results yet.
For now, I stick to Figma for layout and visual design. That said, I’ve been keeping an eye on tools like Reloom, which show promise in generating clean layout structures—something I may explore more in the future.
Beyond my daily go-tos, I’m starting to experiment with Gemini to see how it stacks up. I’m constantly exploring new tools to see how they fit into my workflow and where they can shave time or improve quality.
I don’t see AI as a replacement for human creativity or strategy—but as an accelerator that enhances what I’m already doing. It helps me work smarter, take on more ambitious projects, and deliver better results.
AI has become deeply integrated into how I design and build websites. From development to copywriting, it helps me handle more complexity while keeping my workflow lean and agile.
This is just how I use AI in Webflow development—it's also becoming essential in other areas of my business (but that’s a blog post for another day).
If you're a designer or developer curious about using AI in your process, start experimenting. The right tools can free up your time for the parts of the work that truly need your creative brain.
